Description
An outstanding vintage Beni Ouarain rug from the 1960s. This superb large rug has a deep pile in a warm ivory shade of natural undyed wool and a regular lozenge pattern which itself is intricately formed using small rectangular patterns to make each lozenge. Encasing the rug on both sides is a beautiful protective edging in dark shades of undyed wool, which sets this apart as a quality rug. This rug feels very soft and cosy underfoot, is very heavy and looks absolutely stunning!
Beni Ouarain rugs easily make the leap from their tribal roots to looking fabulous in contemporary homes due to their comparatively simple colour and design. This one is no exception. It would look amazing in any large space in your home.
Wow, this gorgeous 'Beni' makes my heart beat faster! It is 28 kg of pure wool. So soft, stunningly beautiful, and just shouts out for bare feet to melt into it. Lush!"

About Beni Ouarain rugs
The Beni Ouarain tribes produce very easily identifiable rugs using undyed soft natural wool with a medium to thick pile. The classic 'Beni' boasts a beautiful ivory background colour that is adorned with geometrical diamond patterns in black or brown. It is warm, sumptuous and durable, each one the result of several months of work by a Berber woman from the Middle Atlas region to the east of Fez, Morocco. Beni Ouarain rugs have largely maintained their original patterns and colour over the years, although some vintage designs show slight variation in this. Beni Ouarain rugs have become very popular in Europe in recent years due to their simplicity and adaptability to interiors of modern or traditional design.
